The Society’s Annual General Meeting will be held on Saturday, June 26, 2010 from 10:00 to Noon in the multi-purpose room at Bowen Island Community School.

Bowen’s CAO, Hendrick Slegtenhorst, is holding a public information meeting at the CNIB on Cardena Drive from 6:15 - 8:30 p.m. to explain approval of the Development Permit and the 59 10-acre lot subdivision plan.

 

Generally, there is a meeting of either Bowen Island Municipal Council or the Commitee of the Whole every Monday evening at 7:15 p.m. in the Council Chambers at 981 Artisan Lane.  Agendas, once availabe, can be viewed at http://www.bimbc.ca/events_list.php#1023 or www.bimbc.ca/meeting_agenda_2008.  (Delegations or individual citizens are generally allowed to make brief statements at the beginning of council meetings.)

I attended the three-hour ‘Planning & Design Workshop’ organized by the Cape Roger Curtis owners and planning team, where the mayor and council and various municipal committees were invited on Nov. 27. As noted in the article CRC plan beyond comprehensive, Mark Sager said that the meeting was not productive as they “got off on the wrong foot”. The Cape on Bowen Community Development Ltd., formerly Cape Roger Curtis Joint Venture, held its third informational open house at Cates Hill Chapel last Saturday. The planning team, Ekistics Town Planning Inc., have refined their plan to incorporate community feedback gleaned from previous meetings. One of the questions that has been on the minds of those interested in the development was addressed specifically - the number of units proposed for the ultimate build-out is in the neighbourhood of 1,000. Nov 26, 2007 — Ownership has announced that they will hold their third public meeting to discuss their planners’ development proposal for Cape Roger Curtis on December 1, 2007, from 9:30-1:00 and 2:00-5:00 at Cates Hill Chapel. They will be making a formal presentation at 10:30 and repeating it at 2:30, and during the remainder of the time the planners and their consultants will be available for informal discussion and questions.
